Australian Mud Manufactured For Drillers Globally
An Australian mud company, Mudex delivers quality drilling fluids at scale for a range of drilling industry applications. Produced at our manufacturing facility in Canning Vale, Western Australia, some of our key fit for purpose plant and equipment includes:
- Two 16,000 litre mixing vats
- Four 5,000 litre mixing vats
- Four 28,000 litre oil (lubricant) storage tanks
- Five Powder Blending machines capable of up to 7500kg per batch
- Automated decanting equipment
- 2400m² for raw materials and manufactured goods storage to guarantee continuity of supply and production
Mudex is currently being assessed to receive ISO accreditation 9001 QA/QC, Mudex is recognised in industry as a quality provider of products and services that are above and beyond customer expectations – this endorsement will confirm that Mudex’s systems are benchmarked at an international management system standard.

As part of our commitment to delivering more drilling value, Mudex has acquired a diverse and secure supply mix of raw materials to enable the manufacture of a suite of custom blends and drilling mud specifications.
Our comprehensive manufacturing methodologies and Perth-based plant are overseen by an experienced team of drilling fluid engineers who are constantly testing new technologies to meet drillers’ needs
Because we warehouse finished product and raw materials onsite – clients benefit from rapid turnaround, guarantee of supply and a more tailored, streamlined service.
After every round of production, our chemical tanks are cleaned thoroughly, followed by an inspection to ensure all equipment is operable for the following mix.

Extending our focus on superior product development, Mudex is a frontrunner in the supply of drilling fluids packaged in ecofriendly cardboard. We’ve spent a lot of time building our brand on site and we’re just as certain shifting our packaging materials away from the plastic used by other major suppliers will support our customers’ net zero priorities and climate goals. Our new raw material cardboard drilling fluid carton will use 90% less plastic content and has proven to deliver the same product quality and security in transit and during storage in the harsh outdoor elements.
