In his early career, Dave developed a working knowledge in all aspects of drilling applications from HDD mining and water well to oil and gas, establishing the foundations for the technical aspects of manufacturing and applying drilling fluids in complex and challenging scenarios.  

Dave’s appreciation for technically demanding geological conditions and custom designed products was borne through his experience in all facets of drilling from underground to surface environments and later product development in the laboratory. His deep passion for the industry saw him retrain as a mud engineer before co-founding Fluidstar, a business manufacturing drilling fluid additive for the Australian and Asia Pacific markets. 

This experience was a critical driver in the launch of Mudex business in 2014, which has moved from strength to strength and continues to lead the market in drilling fluid innovation and sustainable product development. Dave is known for his unrivalled energy, integrity and operational excellence and is still very hands on in product design. His true entrepreneurial mindset continues to direct the company’s growth and reputation.   

Peter’s career in the international drilling industry spans over 20 years. Overseeing all aspects of costing, pricing, commercial terms and analysis, he remains focused on driving excellence through continuous improvement. 

While working in PNG and the Solomon Islands in global exploration operations he was responsible for researching and evaluating existent business structure by applying various business analysis tools, formulating end-to end solutions, streamlining operations, while contributing to the long-term growth objectives. 

Joining Mudex in 2020, Peter brings a wealth of experience in both domestic and international drilling and service companies. Experienced in expanding channel business, Peter manages relationships with Mudex’s existing partners to enhance profitability of business operations. 

As Group Accountant, Paula manages business accounts from both a staff and operations perspective. She has been instrumental in implementing the latest accounting technology and brings the business strength in the areas of finance, management, auditing and compliance.

In 2016, Paula undertook a contract with a supply chain company in Melbourne that saw her train a group of accountants, specifically on WA legislation and compliance.? 

Having just won a project to manage a portfolio of Pilbara properties for a major Tier 1 mining company, the supply chain company required training that would enable them to operate effectively in this space. Paula’s training enabled a smooth transition for both parties. It was following this engagement that Paula decided to focus on working in the mining sector. 

Drilling for nearly two decades, Cameron is highly regarded in the West Australian drilling industry for his experience across an array of exploration programs – spanning from juniors through to tier 1 companies handling multifaceted drilling programs. 

A specialist in the application of surface Diamond and Reverse Circulation (RC) drilling methods on multipurpose drill rigs, Cameron helps drill crews to meet performance and production metrics through his deep understanding of deep directional drilling, drill hole planning, shear management and drilling fluid application. 

Cameron spent time away from the drilling industry in 2014 to manage a private Australian company and pursue a graduate diploma in business from the Curtin graduate school of business. Following completion of his studies, Cameron returned to his drilling roots to take the position of Regional Manager at Mudex.   

Ever passionate about sharing knowledge, mentoring, training and developing up and coming generations of exploration drillers, he changed focus in 2011 to supporting field teams in developing mud programs, applying all the knowhow acquired through experience onsite as a driller. 

Mick’s speciality is demonstrating how the correct product application and understanding of unique environmental and tooling factors make drilling projects previously perceived to be very difficult, or even impossible – achievable.  

Mick joined Mudex in 2015 after moving to Newcastle and commenced the role of NSW Technical Sales Manager. His role has since expanded into International Technical Sales. 

Keith’s career, like many at Mudex, began with extensive experience working as a driller – supervising and leading projects in the field. After 14 years in various drilling roles, he naturally progressed to drilling fluids and muds.  

Keith has a passion for solving down hole problems with the correct drilling fluids and advice. His other passions outside of work include spending time with family. 

Keith has been with Mudex since the business was established in 2014.  

His role as Area Manager includes the sales and technical servicing of the Northern Territory, South Australia, and Victoria.

An experienced Warehouse and Transport Logistics Manager, Ben has 15 years’ significant project and industry experience and is critical to Mudex’s logistics function, which is both fast paced and far reaching. 

Early in his career he gained valuable document and records management experience while servicing a variety of government agencies, hospitals and private companies. He quickly progressed to the position of operations coordinator and was responsible for a large warehouse and transport team.

As a Distribution Centre Manager for a multinational iconic GET wear part manufacturer, supplying blue-chip mining companies in Western Australia, Ben led warehouse operations and distribution function significantly optimising productivity. 

An experienced operations manager, Brad has drilled and managed Diamond, Geotechnical, RC, Large Diameter, and Deep Directional drilling programs for over 25 years. 

Starting his career in Charters Towers with Grimwood Davies in 1997, he worked his way up the ranks from entry level driller positions to a career-defining opportunity to pursue multipurpose drilling contracts across Australia. 

Brad is experienced in multilateral, oil and gas and well drill projects and is passionate about engineering difficult drilling jobs  and sourcing and applying innovative drilling fluid solutions. In his role with Mudex Brad has a clear goal in mind – to assist in the continual improvement and availability of drilling fluids. 

A chemical engineer, Gladman works with Mudex clients to pioneer chemical and process solutions that anticipate and address complex drilling scenarios.  

Growing up in Zimbabwe, Gladman has led an international career in the manufacturing industry applying his scientific qualifications and industrial technology focus for the past eight years. 

His experience includes process optimisation, product development, quality systems management, quality assurance and control, process auditing and project management. Gladman is currently studying a master’s degree in Chemical Engineering. He joined Mudex in 2020 as a Production Chemist.
