In his early career, Dave developed a working knowledge in all aspects of drilling applications from HDD mining and water well to oil and gas, establishing the foundations for the technical aspects of manufacturing and applying drilling fluids in complex and challenging scenarios.

Dave’s appreciation for technically demanding geological conditions and custom designed products was borne through his experience in all facets of drilling from underground to surface environments and later product development in the laboratory. His deep passion for the industry saw him retrain as a mud engineer before co-founding Fluidstar, a business manufacturing drilling fluid additive for the Australian and Asia Pacific markets.

This experience was a critical driver in the launch of Mudex business in 2014, which has moved from strength to strength and continues to lead the market in drilling fluid innovation and sustainable product development. Dave is known for his unrivalled energy, integrity and operational excellence and is still very hands on in product design. His true entrepreneurial mindset continues to direct the company’s growth and reputation.

Peter’s career in the international drilling industry spans over 20 years. Overseeing all aspects of costing, pricing, commercial terms and analysis, he remains focused on driving excellence through continuous improvement.

While working in PNG and the Solomon Islands in global exploration operations he was responsible for researching and evaluating existent business structure by applying various business analysis tools, formulating end-to end solutions, streamlining operations, while contributing to the long-term growth objectives.

Joining Mudex in 2020, Peter brings a wealth of experience in both domestic and international drilling and service companies. Experienced in expanding channel business, Peter manages relationships with Mudex’s existing partners to enhance profitability of business operations.

Ever passionate about sharing knowledge, mentoring, training and developing up and coming generations of exploration drillers, he changed focus in 2011 to supporting field teams in developing mud programs, applying all the knowhow acquired through experience onsite as a driller.

Mick’s speciality is demonstrating how the correct product application and understanding of unique environmental and tooling factors make drilling projects previously perceived to be very difficult, or even impossible – achievable.

Mick joined Mudex in 2015 after moving to Newcastle and commenced the role of NSW Technical Sales Manager. His role has since expanded into International Technical Sales.

With over 15 years drilling fluids practice, Mark is also experienced in the supply chain of muds throughout Africa.

John started in the exploration industry in 2005 as an offsider progressing through to Country Manager.

Very experienced with remote and Heli supported projects and enjoys the challenges that this type of drilling brings.

Passionate about empowering drilling crews with the tools needed to safely complete drilling programs.

Experience ranges from both green and brown fields exploration in both hard and soft rock formations through to large diameter mine shafts.

Keith’s career, like many at Mudex, began with extensive experience working as a driller – supervising and leading projects in the field. After 14 years in various drilling roles, he naturally progressed to drilling fluids and muds.  

Keith has a passion for solving down hole problems with the correct drilling fluids and advice. His other passions outside of work include spending time with family. 

Keith has been with Mudex since the business was established in 2014.  

His role as Area Manager includes the sales and technical servicing of the Northern Territory, South Australia, and Victoria.  

An experienced Warehouse and Transport Logistics Manager, Ben has 15 years’ significant project and industry experience and is critical to Mudex’s logistics function, which is both fast paced and far reaching. 

Early in his career he gained valuable document and records management experience while servicing a variety of government agencies, hospitals and private companies. He quickly progressed to the position of operations coordinator and was responsible for a large warehouse and transport team.

As a Distribution Centre Manager for a multinational iconic GET wear part manufacturer, supplying blue-chip mining companies in Western Australia, Ben led warehouse operations and distribution function significantly optimising productivity. 

A chemical engineer with extensive experience in process quality control, Girish works with our technical team to pioneer chemical and process solutions that anticipate and address complex drilling scenarios.

His experience includes process optimisation, offshore oil and gas, product development, quality control analysis, quality assurance and control, process auditing and project management.

Heinrich has been in the mining industry, specializing in drilling fluids since 2015.

Over the years he has worked throughout the African continent, in South Africa, Botswana and Namibia and in Central Africa, the Democratic Republic of Congo and all over West Africa.

The unique challenges he has been in contact with throughout the region has given him extensive experience in a wide range of drilling techniques and ground formations types, and has given him the ability to tackle whatever technical drilling fluid service and support is needed.

Heinrich also has experience in the surveying industry, which has given him a good understanding of the importance of exploration drilling and achieving end of hole targets.

Dempsey is an experienced driller with 16 years’ in the industry for major underground, surface coring and sonic drilling companies in Africa.

Extending his passion for the industry, Dempsey continued the past 14 years servicing the drilling industry with technical assistance and advice on drilling fluids for various clients in Africa.

In 2018 he relocated to Australia for a career-defining opportunity to continue his passion. His excellent ability to work with people, contributes to customer service and satisfaction on all levels, formulating end-to end solutions and contributing to reach client goals.
