VIS PAC RD controls fluid loss and provides viscosity in freshwater and seawater drilling fluid systems and forms a thin, resilient, low-permeability filter cake minimizing the potential for formation sloughing and the invasion of filtrate and mud solids into permeable formations.

VIS PAC R polyanionic cellulose is a high-quality, water-soluble polymer designed to control fluid loss and increase viscosity in water-base muds. VIS PAC R can be a more cost-effective option than VIS PAC RD, providing the same fluid properties but is not as readily dispersible and requires efficient mixing equipment.
