Product Description
X SHEAR is a specially formulated blend of low viscosity polymers and powdered inhibitors used to stabilize water sensitive formations such as shales, mudstones, and aggressive shear zones. This unique blend can be used in diamond and rotary drilling operations in conditions where products such as inhibitive polymers, Potassium Chloride, salt etc are ineffective in preventing formation swelling and maintaining hole stability.
LIQUID X SHEAR is also available for sites with limited space or mixing capabilities.
Applications
X SHEAR is used to provide hole stability in shear zones with minimal to no increase in fluid viscosity helping to control pump pressures when penetrating unconsolidated and fractured ground while improving core recovery in water sensitive formations. X SHEAR will control the dispersive tendency of mudstones reducing water invasion into micro fractures associated with mudstones and shales.

Add 10 – 50kg/1000ts to build a fresh drilling fluid or add to an existing mud system
